A sickly puppy!

It's difficult to function with little sleep, and at the moment that is exactly what we're getting due to Brandy having a poorly tummy.

For the last couple of days he's really been off colour and is constantly asking to go out - including every 2 hours during the night. When I am working, Neil is good enough to be the one that gets up during the night - and when Brandy decides he needs to go out - it's a rapid dash downstairs.

So, the poorly pup is on white rice and chicken only, no biscuits, no treats, no doggy chocs. Brinkley is getting sneaky treats in a different room so he doesn't miss out and so far, he seems to have avoided getting whatever Brandy has.

We have to make sure Brandy drinks plenty of water to avoid getting dehydrated, but fortunately, he does seems to enjoy his water - however, this probably adds to the number of trips he has to make outside.

Poor pup. If he's no better tomorrow it looks like a trip to the vets and a needle in the bum.

Aw poor Brandy, let's hope Brinkley doesn't catch it too. At two yrs+ now they're teenagers, aren't they, not puppies?? Guess when they're poorly they're your babies though. Hope a trip to the vet's sorts him out.My tum's upset too, must be more than flu going around.

They're 3 years plus, but they'll always be my pups. We're getting ourselves geared up for another disturbed night. Hope you feel better soon - have you been over-indulging on Christmas goodies?

Two yrs= was close enough ;-)

I've hardly eaten over a few days actually. Yesterday mid morning I had two mince pies then last night I had some cream crackers with cheese & a mushroom cup a soup. Today all I've had is two little plain sponge cakes & half a baking spud with sweetcorn & now I'm forcing down a slice of Christmas cake & complaining I haven't found any cherries in it.

As we've bought the same Christmas cake from Aldi by Holly lane for a few years I think it must have had cherries in it for me to have bought it for so long but where are they this year? Christmas isn't Christmas with cherries in the cake! I've just looked at the box & it says 5% cherries! They're in there somewhere.

They'll be in Chris's slice!

Nope, he couldn't find any cherry bits in his either. I think I have the receipt so, if I don't find any by the time we've waded through half of it, I'll return it for a refund! You think I wouldn't??

A couple of years ago I took some turkey crown breast back to Aldi after realising there was more stuffing than turkey. The box showed differently. I could've bought the one without stuffing which was much better value. I took the centre section which had probably double the amount of stuffing to turkey. They gave me the £12.99 back. Quite right too, in my opinion.

Poor puppy - it's just like having a sick child.

I just wish I could explain things to Brinkley, he just keeps looking at us as if he's asking 'what have I done?' - We're having to sneak treats to him as Brandy can't have any.

Brandy is off to the vets today - he's a little better but has a very sore bum which needs a soothing cream!

I'm certain the vet will give Brandy something to alleviate the upset tum & soothe his BTM.

My friend, Laury who is in Spain, lost .. on Friday morning .. her 8 mth old kitten, Felix, who appeared at her home out in the countryside when he was around 5 wks old so she took him in. It turned out he had a congenital problem & his back legs finally just went. After endless trips to the vet they had to put Felix to sleep, so very sad!

I saw an ad in the big Torrevieja forum, someone had a few kittens, 10 wks old. I sent Laury the link, she had only 'lost' Felix that morning. She & Mel, her husband went that day to see the kittens & took two tabbies, so cute they are.

However as soon as they arrived at their new home they rushed to a litter tray & had the squits! Then they started sneezing & had 'gobby' eyes. Laury took them to the vets Saturday morning, she wanted them vaccinating too as they'd been allowed to go outside (at the other place) despite not being protected. They hadn't a temperature but were given antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and worming pills. Vet said she wants faeces samples if it continues, which it has.

Kittens were given special food by the vet, they're both eating well & drinking ok so the vet said she's not too worried but poor little darlings, having all that to contend with.

Laury said the place is a mess as the kittens walk in it & spread it around & she has two dogs that she's keeping away from them.

Her vets bills over a few months are enormous what with Felix & now Cagney & Lacey or maybe Thelma & Louise, names are being thought about.

So, please keep your fingers X'd for these teeny kittens.

Get well soon, Brandy. x
